Client: Sculpture by the Sea
Location: Cottesloe, Australia
Status: Built 2015
Sponsor: Permathene

This sculpture was originally exhibited on the cliff side at the 2014 Bondi Sculpture by the Sea event where it was so well received that it was awarded the Andrea Stretton Memorial Invitation to also appear in the Cottesloe exhibition.

In the Cottesloe exhibition the House of Mirrors has been completely re-imagined. The form has been inverted to allow for an inhabitable, more spacious interior and an undefined irregular exterior. The sculpture sits partly buried in the sand on Cottesloe Beach, giving it a weightless, ethereal quality. From afar this gives the effect that the building is levitating.
